Dr Stephen Burgess is a senior lecturer in the School of Information Systems at
Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia. He has a bachelors degree in Accounting and a
Graduate Diploma in Commercial Data Processing, both from Victoria University,
a Master of Business (Information Technology) from RMIT, and a PhD from Monash
University, in the area of small business to consumer interactions on the
Internet.
His research and teaching interests include the use of IT in small business, the strategic
use of IT, B-C electronic commerce and IT management education. |

Bill Davey is a senior lecturer in the School of Business Information Technology
at RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. He holds bachelors degrees in science and education
and a master of business degree. His research interests include methodologies for systems
analysis and systems development, Visual Basic programming, information systems curriculum, and
information technology in educational management. |

Alastair Davison is currently a lecturer in e-commerce and computing resources
at RMIT University, Melbourne. Prior to his appointment at RMIT he was lecturer in Business
Management Methods at the University of Melbourne. He was instrumental in the development of
one of the earliest E-commerce courses at RMIT and has taught web business to students all
levels, including Masters. Alastair has worked as a consultant and has also developed and
maintained commercial websites. Years of management experience and interaction with IT has
given Alastair a broad awareness of the many issues confronting the IS/IT framework within
an organisation. |

Doug McConville has retired, but is currently operating a Bed and Breakfast
establishment in Castlemaine and undertaking sessional lecturing work in several Victorian
universities. He was formerly a secondary school teacher and then a lecturer at Victoria
University, Melbourne. His interests include Visual Basic programming and systems
implementation. |

which he investigated the teaching of programming environments such as Visual Basic. His

Dr Arthur Tatnall is an Associate Professor in the Victoria Graduate School of Business
at Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia. He holds bachelors degrees in science and
education, a graduate diploma in computer science and a research master of arts in which he
explored the origins of business computing education in Australian universities. His PhD
involved a study in curriculum innovation in which he investigated the manner in which Visual
Basic entered the curriculum of an Australian university. His research interests include
technological innovation, information systems curriculum, visual programming, project
management, electronic commerce, and information technology in educational management. He is
a member of IFIP working groups WG3.4 (Deputy Chair) and WG3.7 and has
published widely on a variety of topics related to information systems. |

Andrew Wenn BSc, DipEd, Grad Dip Comp, MSc. |

Andrew Wenn is a lecturer in the School of Information Systems at Victoria
University, Melbourne and is currently undertaking his PhD in the History and Philosophy of
Science Department at the University of Melbourne. His main field of research is the nexus
between the social and the technical, particularly in the area of global information systems.
Andrew has a number of publications in this area as well as in the area of Internet-based
education and e-commerce and small business in Australia. He was recently appointed to the
Editorial Review Board of the Information Resources Management Journal, has just co-edited
another book Socio-Technical and Human Cognition Elements of Information Systems recently
published by Information Science Publishing and was co-editor of the Proceedings for ACIS
2002. |
